Funimation announced this Monday (May 11th) that it will release the original anime Deca-Dence this summer in Japan.

Brief description of the anime's story by Funimation: "In a world where all of humanity lives in large mobile fortresses, this anime follows the fight against a legion of menacing kaiju!"
Although little information has been revealed about the anime's story, we can see in the teaser trailer that the protagonist will be a girl accompanied by an older man. This leaves open the question of what kind of drama the anime will depict. So we could expect a plot with elements of The Last of Us , or something more adventurous… we'll only know this summer.
Furthermore, the anime will be directed by Yuzuru Wachikawa ( Mob Psycho 100 , Death Parade), and is a sci-fi action anime from studio NUT ( Saga of Tanya the Evil ). Hiroshi Seko, who collaborated with Tachikawa on both seasons of Mob Psycho 100, is writing the anime's script. Pomodrosa ( Listeners ) is credited with character concept design, with Shinchi Kurita (Death Parade) handling the animation character design. Mashiro Tokuda (Last Hope) is composing the music. Tachikawa commented that the anime will feature a large world with drama, monsters, and a giant mobile fortress.
