Brief description of the anime's story by Funimation: "In a world where all of humanity lives in large mobile fortresses, this anime follows the fight against a legion of menacing kaiju!"
Although little information has been revealed about the anime's story, we can see in the teaser trailer that the protagonist will be a girl accompanied by an older man. This leaves open the question of what kind of drama the anime will depict. So we could expect a plot with elements of The Last of Us, or something more adventurous… we'll only know this summer.
Furthermore, the anime will be directed by Yuzuru Wachikawa (Mob Psycho 100, Death Parade), and is a sci-fi action anime from studio NUT (Saga of Tanya the Evil). Hiroshi Seko, who collaborated with Tachikawa on both seasons of Mob Psycho 100, is writing the anime's script. Pomodrosa (Listeners) is credited with character concept design, with Shinchi Kurita (Death Parade) handling the animation character design. Mashiro Tokuda (Last Hope) is composing the music. Tachikawa commented that the anime will feature a large world with drama, monsters, and a giant mobile fortress.
