The 2024 edition of G-STAR (Global Game Exhibition), the largest gaming fair in South Korea, will take place in November and promises to be a treat for fans of subcultural games. The event will feature major companies such as Netmarble, Webzen, Hypergryph , and Lionhead Studios, which will present new titles packed with anime-style characters, a genre that has been gaining ground in the industry. Expectations for the releases are high, especially with the focus on games that feature charismatic characters and engaging storylines.

Among the highlights, Netmarble and Hypergryph will present sequels to already acclaimed games. Webzen and Lionhead Studios will also bring new titles, with Webzen investing heavily in action RPGs, while Lionheart will introduce an innovative title focused on magic and female characters.

Netmarble bets on success with 'Monquil: Stardive'

Netmarble, which has been a regular presence at G-STAR in recent years, promises to shake things up at the event with two new games. One of the most anticipated releases is Monquil: Stardive , a sequel to Monster Taming , which was a hit in 2013. The new title retains the same essence, but with updated graphics and mechanics, including team battles and a captivating narrative.

The company plans to hold events at the G-STAR booth, featuring renowned voice actors and VTubers (virtual content creators) who will provide live reviews of the game. The strategy is to engage the public with interactive attractions, increasing anticipation for the launch.

Webzen invests in graphics with 'Dragon Sword'

Another big name at the fair is Webzen, which will be presenting Dragon Sword , an action RPG developed by its affiliate Hound13. Built on the powerful Unreal Engine 5, the game promises to impress with high-quality graphics and intense battles against giant creatures.

Furthermore, Webzen will continue showcasing Tervys , a subcultural RPG that debuted at the 2023 edition. With these releases, the company reinforces its intention to consolidate its position in the market for games that focus on fantasy universes and stylized action.

Lionhead Studios will debut with 'Project C' on G-STAR

Lionhead Studios, known for the success of Odin: Valhalla Rising , is participating in G-STAR for the first time. The company will be showcasing Project C , a collectible RPG set in a fantasy world where the player takes on the role of an instructor at a magic academy. The game promises to be one of the event's biggest attractions, blending an engaging narrative with captivating female characters.

Although few details have been released so far, the expectation is that the studio will reveal important information during the event, such as new characters and game mechanics.

'Arknights: Endfield' arrives in a new 3D format

Hypergryph, the studio behind one of the biggest hits of recent years, Arknights , will present its official sequel, Arknights: Endfield . Unlike the original, which combined tower defense mechanics with character collection, the new game will be a real-time strategy RPG with 3D graphics.

Players will explore the planet Talos II, discovering hidden secrets and facing threats in a vast and mysterious environment. Additionally, the Hypergryph booth at G-STAR will feature influencers and cosplayers, heightening the anticipation for this highly anticipated release.

When will G-STAR 2024 take place?

G-STAR 2024 will take place between November 14th and 17th at BEXCO, a convention center located in Busan, South Korea.
