After a brief hiatus this week, the anime Gachiakuta returns in full force with its third episode, scheduled for July 27, 2025. As announced, the released preview highlights two new characters: Zanka and Riyo, and also reveals the technical team involved. The animation continues under the care of studio BONES FILM, while international streaming continues with Crunchyroll.
What to expect from episode 3 of Gachiakuta
Titled “Lower World,” the episode marks a significant turning point for Rudo. Now aware of his powers as a Giver—individuals capable of giving life and power to objects—he is recruited by Enjin to join the “Cleaners.” This organization fights creatures formed from trash, but Rudo's adaptation to this new reality will not be so simple.
Right from the start, he clashes with Zanka, his direct instructor, which promises tension and character development early in the episode. Riyo should also play a key role, although details about her are still scarce.
Manga continues to gain momentum
Kei Urana, the author of the original work, continues to publish the manga in Weekly Shonen Magazine. To date, 15 volumes have been released in Japan—the most recent being dated June 17th. Furthermore, Kodansha USA began publishing it in English in January 2024, expanding the series' global reach.
The universe of Gachiakuta grows boldly, both visually and conceptually. The introduction of Zanka promises to shake up the plot's structure and enrich Rudo's journey. The third episode seems destined to establish important internal conflicts, as well as expand the layers of this distorted world full of trash—literally and metaphorically.
