Producer “ Masao Maruyama ” announced at the Otakon panel that the series Garo: Honoo no Kokuin will arrive on Japanese TVs in October this year. Unlike the first season of the anime, this series will be a jidaigeki (period drama) set in the Heian period. This new season will have a female protagonist.
Furthermore, Maruyama also confirmed that Garo's next animated film will have a new story.
The Garo Project began in 2005, with the series first airing in 2006, with 25 episodes. Since then, it has inspired several series, films and specials. The latest live-action drama, Garo -Gold Storm- Shō, premiered with a film in March, followed by a television series in April.
