Gatchaman Crowds is a 2013 anime series produced by Tatsunoko Production. It is the fifth Japanese animation project produced based on the original 1972 anime Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, and is directed by Kenji Nakamura. The series aired on NTV between July 12, 2013 and September 27, 2013 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll.
The story takes place in Japan at the beginning of summer 2015. 180,000 people live in the city of Tachikawa, the "second metropolis" of the Tokyo area. Among these people are the "Gatchaman"—warriors who fight in reinforced suits that receive power from "NOTE," the manifestation of special spiritual powers in living beings.
