Japanese food chain Gendai has announced a partnership with Crunchyroll , the world's largest anime streaming platform. The campaign, titled "Anime Lovers ," offers a free month of Crunchyroll subscription to anyone who purchases the special Poke Ceviche Salmon with a Coca-Cola . The promotion is valid from December 17 to 23, 2024, or while supplies last.
To participate, customers must provide their mobile phone number at the time of purchase. Within 48 hours, an SMS will be sent with the promotional code, which must be activated on the Crunchyroll website by December 25th. Once activated, streaming access will be available for 30 days.
The campaign reflects Gendai's efforts to connect with a younger audience, increasingly interested in Japanese culture. "We want to offer an authentic experience that combines gastronomy and entertainment ," explains Barbara Saddi, Gendai's Marketing Manager. The initiative not only strengthens the restaurant's presence in this market but also promotes Asian culture in an innovative way.
Gilberto Ohara, Gendai's Brand Director, emphasizes that the partnership reflects the company's DNA. "We're bringing the Brazilian public closer to our traditions, while also bringing new things to the modern consumer ," he says.
A complete and immersive experience
Raphael Guimarães, Director of Licensing at Crunchyroll, highlighted the synergy between the two brands. "We combine authentic Japanese cuisine with the best of anime streaming, providing fans with a deeper connection to Eastern culture ," he says. He believes the initiative reinforces the relevance of Japanese culture in Brazil and expands Crunchyroll's presence in the domestic market.
Additionally, Gendai's loyalty program adds value to the promotion, with cashback between 10% and 20% depending on the volume of purchases made through official channels.
This partnership between Gendai and Crunchyroll symbolizes a growing trend of brands aligned with Japanese pop culture in Brazil. The country is one of the largest consumers of anime outside of Japan, and initiatives like this strengthen the cultural bond between the nations. Thus, Gendai, with over 65 restaurants in Brazil, and Crunchyroll, with its vast anime library, are capitalizing on this shared passion.
The Trigo Group, which operates Gendai, is one of the largest Asian food operators in the world, with around 600 restaurants. Crunchyroll, a subsidiary of the Sony Group, stands out as a global leader in anime content, consolidating its presence in several territories.
The promotion, which combines gastronomy and culture, is more than a marketing campaign; it's a celebration of Japanese culture in Brazil. Consumers can find more details about the campaign on Gendai's official website: www.gendai.com.br .
