The Operation DownPour Simulation event is available in Genshin Impact from May 19 to June 3, 2025. Located in the Fontaine region, the event simulates a board war and requires strategic decisions to overcome fighting. Mechanics requires the player to defeat enemies and adversary structures, carefully choosing which units to use in each scenario.

In all, there are 11 progressive challenges, with the first four released at the beginning. To participate, it is necessary to complete a short mission with the same name of the event, which presents its dynamics. At each stage, the player can position up to five units, between melee and distance attack, adjusting to the needs of the battlefield.

First challenges ask for simple and quick strategy

In the first challenge, called Frontline Formation, the combat is against Cryo Whopperflowers. In addition, the player must position two groups of Hilichurl Fighters and two from Electro Samachurls, distributing them on both sides of the field. This basic formation ensures the rapid elimination of enemies without requiring exchanges or repositioning.

Then, in the second step, Thrust and Volley Combined, the resistance increases. The opponents are two Hydro Slimes and two Treaster Hoarder Pyro Potioneers. To overcome them, the indicated strategy involves using two ruin guards to make their way and then release the Grenadiers Hilichurl. Thus, the advancement of enemies is efficiently contained.

Soon after, the third challenge, Siege Strategies, has even more resistant enemies, such as Frostarma Lawachurls and More Pyro Potioneers. Therefore, the recommendation is to position three Cryo Specters at the lower base, followed by two Samachurls electro. Once the first fight is overcome, the ruin guards must be released to complete the offensive.

Posterior challenges require greater units coordination

In Studies in Momentum, the main enemy is Mek: Ouia, accompanied by Cryo Whopperflowers. The ideal formation begins with two Eroding Avatars of Lava and a group of electro Cicins at the base. After beating the first whopperflower, two groups of Hilichurl Fighters come into play. The second group of electro Cicins should be inserted last, completing the offensive.

Each phase requires attention to the behavior of the units, which follow distinct attack patterns. The melee characters advance in a straight line and destroy obstacles along the way. However, the gunmen remain fixed until the target is eliminated, requiring a more calculated positioning.

As in a board strategy game, each decision influences the outcome of the match. The combination of brute force and reach defines success in clashes. The event, limited in time, offers a dynamic experience for players looking for challenges beyond traditional game combat.

Event brings different approach and reinforces variety in the game

Operation DownPour Simulation proposal runs away from conventional genshin impact . By adopting a wargame structure (board war simulation), the event highlights the importance of tactical reasoning and plays planning. Each phase invites the player to think before acting, offering different ways to achieve victory.

In addition to fun, the event also provides learning. Thus, less experienced players have a chance to better understand attack and defense functions. For veterans, the challenge is to find the most effective formations and reduce the response time to maximum.

With the end scheduled for June 3, the event is part of the content of update 5.6. Until then, participants will be able to explore all available challenges, accumulating rewards and improving their strategic vision within the Teyvat universe.
