HoYoverse has confirmed the release of Genshin Impact , titled The Day of the Return of Flames, for March 26th. The update takes players on a journey through new areas of Natlan, including the mysterious Great Volcano of Tollan and the sacred city hidden within its depths. Additionally, new characters and gameplay improvements promise to make the experience even more immersive.

New characters and abilities expand combat strategies

Iansan, meanwhile, is a 4-star spear-wielding warrior specializing in support. Her Ultimate boosts allies' attacks and grants continuous healing to the active character, an effect that intensifies as the team moves across the battlefield. Both will be available in the first phase of the Event Prayer, alongside Xianyun's return. In the second phase, Xilonen and Venti will also have reappearance banners.

The arrival of version 5.5 introduces Varesa and Iansan to the playable roster, both Electro-elemental. Varesa, a 5-star character who uses a catalyst, stands out for her immersive attack, which amplifies damage and reduces energy costs when entering the Scorching Heat state. Her unique talent also allows her to recover Phlogiston by consuming food, facilitating team resource management.

The Great Tollan Volcano and the Collective of Plenty tribe

The southwestern region of Natlan opens up to players with the arrival of the update. The Great Volcano of Tollan, revered as the Sacred Mountain, holds a secret city built by ancient dragons. Therefore, as players venture through the location, they will unravel the mysteries of the Flame Lord's Blessing and encounter a new tribe, the Collective of Plenty.

This community values physical strength and holds competitions to demonstrate power. Thanks to the fertile volcanic soil, their crops are abundant, and their fruits are known for their unique sweetness. However, the volcano does not always remain inert, and its occasional eruptions cause rockslides that require attention.

Unprecedented transformation and special events

One of the update's biggest additions is the ability to transform into the Tantakassaurus, a saurian unique to the tribe. This creature can destroy rocks called Pulverites and move quickly over water or the dangerous Liquid Phlogiston. This mechanic adds new ways to explore and interact with the environment.

The Floral Trials, a Natlan tradition, return with new challenges. In the event, players join Mavuika and Ifa to save a saurian afflicted with a rare disease. Another attraction is the Saurian Treasure Hunt minigame, where players can help a young saurian overcome obstacles and collect rewards. As a bonus, the character Ororon can be recruited for free during the event.

New boss and player experience improvements

Version 5.5 also adds a new boss, the Lava Dragon Statue, found in the volcano's geothermal fissures. The battle promises to be one of the update's most intense challenges.

Additionally, improvements have been made to the artifact system. Now, using the Sanctifying Elixir guarantees at least two increases to the chosen bonus attribute during strengthening, optimizing gear enhancement.

Available for free on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, PC, and mobile devices, Genshin Impact continues to expand its universe with constant updates. The arrival of version 5.5 promises not only new challenges but also an even deeper immersion into the world of Teyvat.
