Genshin Impact fans who used X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, will need to adapt to new communication channels. HoYoverse, the game's developer, announced that updates about the RPG will no longer be shared on the social network. The change follows the arrival of patch 5.2, scheduled for November 20th.

According to a statement published on the official Genshin Impact X account, game news will now be shared exclusively on HoYoLab. The platform, created by the developer itself, is already popular with avid players and offers detailed information about the game's universe.

Why is Genshin Impact moving to HoYoLab?

Although HoYoverse hasn't officially revealed the reasons for the decision, experts point out that recent changes in X's management under Elon Musk may have influenced the decision. Companies have struggled to predict the impact of platform changes, which affects communication and engagement strategies.

Furthermore, HoYoLab allows the developer to centralize content and offer more features, such as dedicated forums, extensive ads, and greater community interaction. These advantages stand out compared to X's limited format, which restricted the number of characters per post.

Other popular games, such as Blue Archive , had already abandoned X in favor of their own platforms, thus seeking greater autonomy and control over their information.

Impact of the decision among Genshin Impact players

The change generated mixed reactions among fans. Some players praised the decision, noting that HoYoLab is already a better tool and integrated into the HoYoverse ecosystem. However, others expressed dissatisfaction, noting difficulties navigating the platform and the reduced reach of updates.

There's no word yet on how this decision will impact the company's other games, such as Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero . Both games have frequent updates on X, but they could follow the same path as Genshin Impact .

Update 5.2 arrives, inviting players to explore new content in the RPG and adapt to HoYoverse's new communication strategy. The company, for its part, seems focused on strengthening its community within an environment under its full control.

HoYoverse now centralizes Genshin Impact ads on HoYoLAB

HoYoverse has decided to publish some Genshin Impact updates and events exclusively on HoYoLAB, its official social media platform. The company announced the change in messages posted on X and Facebook: "Announcements for Version 5.2 and future game events, as well as some event descriptions, will be published only on the official Genshin Impact HoYoLAB channel. Travelers can visit the website for corresponding information."

Despite the change, HoYoverse will remain present on other social networks. This appears to be part of a strategy to attract more users to HoYoLAB by offering exclusive content. More relevant announcements, such as new character reveals, will remain available on X and Facebook, in addition to HoYoLAB. The company maintains a strong following on these networks and is unlikely to abandon this audience.

The goal of this strategy is to strengthen the use of HoYoLAB, which already offers several features integrated into HoYoverse games. Users can browse characters, check stats, and even check in to receive rewards. The platform, available online and as an app, has become an extension of the company's experiences.
