Genshin Impact fans who used X, formerly known as Twitter, will need to adapt to new communication channels. HoYoverse, the game's developer, announced that updates about the RPG will no longer be released on the social network. The change coincides with the arrival of patch 5.2, scheduled for November 20th.

According to a statement published on the official Genshin Impact X account, game news will now be released exclusively on HoYoLab. This platform, created by the developer, is already well-known among dedicated players and offers detailed information about the game's universe.

Why is Genshin Impact migrating to HoYoLab?

Although HoYoverse has not officially revealed the reasons for its decision, experts suggest that recent changes in Xbox's management under Elon Musk may have influenced the choice. Companies have faced difficulties in predicting the impact of changes to the platform, which affects communication and engagement strategies.

Furthermore, HoYoLab allows the developer to centralize content and offer more features, such as dedicated forums, extended announcements, and greater community interaction. These advantages stand out in comparison to the limited format of X, which restricted the number of characters per post.

Other popular games, such as Blue Archive , had already abandoned X in favor of their own platforms, thus seeking greater autonomy and control over their information.

Impact of the decision among Genshin Impact players

The change generated mixed reactions among fans. Some players praised the decision, highlighting that HoYoLab is already a better tool and more integrated into the HoYoverse ecosystem. However, others expressed dissatisfaction, pointing to difficulties navigating the platform and the reduced reach of updates.

There is still no confirmation about the impact of this decision on other games from the company, such as Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero . Both have frequent updates on X, but they may follow the same path as Genshin Impact .

Update 5.2 invites players to explore new content in the RPG and adapt to HoYoverse's new communication strategy. The company, in turn, seems focused on strengthening its community within an environment under its complete control.

HoYoverse now centralizes Genshin Impact announcements on HoYoLAB

HoYoverse has decided to release some updates and events for the game Genshin Impact exclusively on HoYoLAB, its official social media platform. The company announced the change in messages posted on X and Facebook: “Announcements for Version 5.2 and future game events, as well as some event descriptions, will only be published on the official Genshin Impact channel on HoYoLAB. Travelers can access the website for corresponding information.”

Despite the change, HoYoverse will remain present on other social media platforms. The move appears to be part of a strategy to attract more users to HoYoLAB by offering exclusive content. High-profile announcements, such as the unveiling of new characters, should remain available on X and Facebook, in addition to HoYoLAB. The company maintains a solid base of followers on these networks and is unlikely to abandon this audience.

The goal of this strategy is to strengthen the use of HoYoLAB, which already offers several functions integrated into HoYoverse games. Users can view characters, check statistics, and even check in to receive rewards. The platform, available on the web and as an app, has become an extension of the experiences offered by the company.
