According to Deadline, DreamWorks is hiring director Rupert Sanders to direct the American adaptation of the anime and manga Ghost in the Shell
Known for Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders has reportedly already signed a contract with the studio. DreamWorks has also commissioned William Wheeler to write a new version of the script, but there's no filming date yet.
For now, without a scheduled release date or cast, the plot should follow the anime's lead, in which Major Mokoto Kusanagi, a cybernetic police officer, fights to bring justice to the streets of her Japanese megacity in a dystopian future.
