Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki are directing the new season at Production IG and Sola Digital Arts . Russian illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov is returning as character designer. Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi are composing the music.
Synopsis:
The story takes place after a financial crisis, where the world is experiencing a “sustainable war” with extreme use of artificial intelligence. Section 9 needs to face these new forms of cyber threat that persist in destroying the world.
Masamune Shirow is once again credited as the original creator of the Ghost in the Shell manga , and the returning screenwriters are Kamiyama , Ryou Higaki , Kurasumi Sunayama , Harumi Doki , Dai Sato , and Daisuke Daitou .
The first season premiered globally on Netflix in April 2020 with a total of 12 episodes.
