According to the international news website Variety , “Scarlett Johansson” who you know as “Lucy” and “Black Widow” in The Avengers, has been confirmed that she will play the character “Motoko Kusanagi” (Major) in the film Ghost in the Shell – or Ghost of the Future here in Brazil.

Since 2014, Dreamworks had been looking for an actress for the role, and Margot Robbie to play the character.

The plot follows the original anime/manga story in which Major Mokoto Kusanagi, a cybernetic police officer, fights to bring justice to the streets of her Japanese megacity in a dystopian future. Former Marvel executive Avi Arad (Spider-Man) is one of the film's producers.
