The spring anime season of 2015 is about to begin, with just over a month to go, and along with it comes the return of one of the most anticipated titles: Gintama! The new anime in the franchise is scheduled to premiere on April 8th on TV Tokyo and will air every Wednesday at 6:00 PM (Japan time).
Gintama had one season of 201 episodes in 2006, one of 51 in 2011, and another of 13 in 2012.
The anime is inspired by the original manga by Hideaki Sorachi, which has been published in the Japanese anthology Shonen Jump since 2003 and currently has 57 volumes published in its country of origin. The story revolves around the adventures of Gintoki, a samurai who works as a handyman during the Edo period in Japan. The problem is that the jobs he takes on are the most bizarre possible, and everything always ends in a lot of confusion.
