Warner Bros. Japan then released a new clip on Tuesday dedicated to the film Gintama: THE FINAL . The clip shows former friends and enemies Gintoki , Takasugi , and Katsura teaming up.
The film debuted at #1 in Japan on January 8, ending the reign of the Kimetsu no Yaiba , which had spent 12 consecutive weekends at the top of the Japanese box office. The film has now earned a cumulative total of 1,061,255,420 yen (about US$544,954.66 ).
Gintama: THE FINAL is therefore based on the manga , combining new story elements.
