The new film “Gintama -Yoshiwara on Fire-” has had its premiere confirmed for February 13, 2026. It promises to reignite the flame of the saga with a completely new animation for fans.
The production is based on the Yoshiwara Enjō-hen from Hideaki Sorachi 's manga , and will be animated by BN Pictures , with distribution by Warner Bros. Japan .
Synopsis
The plot follows Gintoki , Shinpachi , and Kagura in an intense battle in the underworld of Yoshiwara . This is an underground city controlled by the feared "King of the Night," Hōsen . In addition to classic characters like Tsukuyo , Kamui, and Hinowa , the film will feature new appearances. Characters such as Katsura , Kondō , Hijikata , Okita , and Yamazaki , who did not appear in the original version of the arc, will also be featured.
Finally, the film is directed by Naoya Ando , supervised by Yoichi Fujita , and written by Taku Kishimoto . This ensures an experienced team at the helm of this highly anticipated adaptation.
