Girl Friend BETA website released a promotional video. The series arrives in Japan on October 12th. CyberAgent 's social simulation game of the same name. The five previously announced cast members are reprising their roles from the 2012 game.
Naotaka Hayashi (Magi – The Kingdom of Magic) will direct the anime at studio SILVER LINK (No-Rin, C³, Baka and Test). Michiko Yokote (Love Stage!!, No-Rin, Genshiken) will handle series composition. Noriko Tsutsumiya (Dragonar Academy, C³, Kokoro Link animation director) is designing the characters based on original character designs by QP:flapper (MM!, Oreimo 2, Sora in the Method).
Kadokawa will release the first issue of the special Girl Friend (Kari) Magazine on August 22. The magazine will include four manga series that focus on specific characters from the anime.
CyberAgent's blogging site started service for the smartphone game in 2012. In June 2014 the number of registered users exceeded 5.3 million. The game introduces over a hundred girls to the player to date, each voiced by a different voice actress.
