Gokushufudou: The Cinema premieres in Japan

Gokushufudou: The Cinema, live-action adaptation of Gokushufudou, premiered on Friday (3) in Japanese theaters. The film is the fourth spin-off of the manga, which already has an anime , a live-action series and a Netflix special. The film is directed by Tōichirō Rutō and has a theme song by the duo Creepy Nuts .

The manga is written by Kousuke Oono and has been published in the seinen magazine Kurage Bunch since 2018. In 2020, Gokushufudou was adapted into a Japanese television series, which also featured Tōichirō Rutō as director. In 2021, Netflix released an anime and a special , both starring Kenjiro Tsuda.

However, it is the cast of the series that reprise their roles in Gokushufudou: The Cinema . Hiroshi Tamaki plays Tatsu, while Haruna Kawaguchi is Miku.

The work is a light, and often absurd, comedy that presents brief episodes from the life of Tatsu, a famous member of the mafia.

Synopsis:

Tatsu is a former Yakuza member known as the Immortal Dragon. Despite being a feared mobster, he leaves behind a life of crime to become a househusband. While his wife works, Tatsu must handle the household chores and tries to do them meticulously, as a good Yakuza would.
