Golden Kamuy: Final Arc Announced for 2026

The final film arc of the Golden Kamuy has received its first official trailer. It will be released in January 2026 with animation by Brain's Base .

Additionally, two prologue films (Sapporo Beer Factory Arc) will be released in theaters in October 2025. The first part premieres on October 10th and the second on the 31st.

Synopsis Golden Kamuy

This story is set in the northern countryside of Hokkaido during the turbulent Meiji Era. Sugimoto, a soldier who survived the Russo-Japanese War and became known as "The Immortal," needs a large sum of money... Dreaming of making a fortune overnight during the Hokkaido Gold Rush, Sugimoto finds a map of tattoos on the backs of escapees from Abashiri Prison, which could lead to a secret treasure! Hokkaido's magnificent landscapes, violent escapees, and Asirpa, an Ainu girl full of purity! A battle of survival for the hidden treasure begins!

Golden Kamuy (ゴールデンカムイ, Gōruden Kamui ) is a work written and illustrated by Satoru Noda , which combines action, adventure and history of Japan with elements of the indigenous Ainu culture. Thus, the representation of the Ainu language was supervised by the linguist Hiroshi Nakagawa , of the University of Chiba, an expert in the language.

However, the series gained recognition by winning the 9th Manga Taisho Award , cementing its prominence in the manga scene. During the 2016 New York Comic-Con , Viz Media announced the acquisition of the English-language publishing rights. An anime adaptation premiered on Japanese television in April 2018 .

Finally, the manga was serialized in Young Jump from August 2014 to April 2022 , totaling 31 volumes , with the last one being released in July 2022. Furthermore, in Brazil, the official publication was by Panini in 2019 .
