Good Smile Company announced the temporary suspension of shipments of its figures to the United States through its online store, following the Japan Post's decision to suspend certain international services. The measure takes effect on August 27, 2025 .
The decision is linked to the U.S. government's executive order, issued in July, which ended de minimis treatment for imports. This means that, starting August 29, personal-use products will no longer enter the U.S. duty-free. Furthermore, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has implemented new requirements for customs declarations and deposits, but details on their application are still unclear.
In response, Japan Post suspended sending small packages, parcels, and EMS services to the United States. Only letters, documents, and gifts worth up to $100 remain accepted.
Regions affected by the suspension of Good Smile
The suspension covers the entire United States, including overseas territories. Good Smile Company stated that it is analyzing alternative shipping methods to resume services as soon as possible. The company assured that further updates will be released as soon as a viable solution to normalize shipping is found.
Meanwhile, American consumers will have to wait until the company adapts its logistics to comply with the changes imposed by US authorities.
