The anime is produced by Studio 8 bit (Knight's & Magic, How to Keep a Mummy) . The season was originally scheduled to begin airing in October of this year, but was rescheduled for January 2021. Additionally, a break was taken in April to air its spin-off, The Slime Diaries , returning with the second arc in July.
The production committee explained that production had allocated sufficient time, but the state of emergency in Japan due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) significantly impacted its production schedule.
Both anime will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV.
