The anime is produced by studio 8 bit (Knight's & Magic, How to Keep a Mummy) , the season was scheduled to begin airing in October this year, but was moved to January 2021. In addition, a break was taken in April to get its spin-off The Slime Diaries airing and returning with the second arc in July.
The production committee explained that the production had allocated sufficient time, but the state of emergency in Japan due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) greatly affected its production schedule.
