From childhood, until putting on the cape!
According to TV Line, Reilly explained that we will see much more of Batman than initially expected. "We'll do a Bruce Wayne arc from childhood to the moment he puts on his cape," said the executive. Of course, there could be a time jump, depending on how long the series lasts.
Besides Batman, Gotham will also feature appearances from some classic comic book characters. "Young Bruce Wayne, the Penguin, the Riddler, and how they became... What happened to [someone] to transform into Catwoman," all with Gotham as the backdrop.
Gotham will show Detective James Gordon rising through the ranks of the city's police force. The first case to be investigated by the protagonist will apparently be the death of Bruce Wayne. Filming of the pilot is scheduled for March 2014.
The series will be produced by Warner Bros. TV and will be written by Bruno Heller, of The Mentalist fame, and directed by Danny Cannon.
