Grand Blue Dreaming – Manga goes on hiatus due to the author's health problems

The March issue of Kadokawa 's Good! Afternoon revealed on Tuesday that the comedy manga Grand Blue Dreaming , by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka , will go on hiatus due to one of the creators suffering from a sudden illness.

The announcement, however, did not detail the illness and did not reveal when the manga will return.

Additionally, the Vintage Akabori-kun manga will also be going on hiatus for the same reason.

Grand Blue Dreaming went on hiatus from January to March 2021 because Inoue was suffering from back pain due to overwork. The manga also went on hiatus again for a month in May 2021 due to one of the creators being hospitalized for a sudden emergency.

Synopsis

After moving to a seaside town on his own, Iori Kitahara experiences a college debut he never imagined. A new chapter of his life unfolds, filled with diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a bunch of adorable bastards! Idiot expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale full of alcohol-fueled mischief!

Inoue and Yoshioka then launched the manga in April 2014. Crunchyroll is also releasing chapters of the manga as they premiere in Japan. Kodansha published the 19th volume of the manga in August 2022.
