Grow Up Show: Original anime reveals release date

My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

The original anime Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus-dan has received a new promotional video, as well as a new visual, main cast, and technical team. The production premieres in July and marks a collaboration between Aniplex , A-1 Pictures , and the studio Psyde Kick .

The story takes place between the late 1950s and early 1960s, during Japan's economic boom. At that time, traveling circuses dominated the entertainment industry. The plot follows the Sunflower Circus, led by Maria, as they face financial difficulties while trying to make a name for themselves.

Among the cast highlights, Tomoka Noda plays Mizuka Tsurumaki, a young woman with above-average physical abilities. Shiori Kurosaki voices Ōka Kawasumi, the group's main star and a trapeze specialist.

The anime is directed by Kanta Kamei , known for works such as Oreshura. The original character designs are by Kurehito Misaki, illustrator of the Saekano light novel. Takeshi Kikuchi supervises the series scripts.

The production involves the newly created Psyde Kick Studio , founded by A-1 Pictures in 2025. The studio seeks to expand creative freedom and explore new animation formats. Furthermore, the initiative encourages new talent and experimental projects.

With this positioning, the label is already working on multiple projects, under the leadership of Jun Katou, a producer associated with franchises such as 86 and Sword Art Online .
