Square Enix 's mind-blowing magazine Gangan Joker has announced an anime adaptation of Gugure! Kokkuri-san by author Midori Endō.

The anime stars Ryou Hirohashi (Working!, Kaleido Star!) as Kohina Ichmatsu, Daisuke Ono (Durarara!) as Kokkuri-san, Takahiro Sakurai (Hack // Roots, Noragami) as Inugami, and Jouji Nakata (Fate/Zero) as Jigaraki.

The original manga revolves around Kohina, a girl who ends up summoning a Kokkuri-san, a more vile ghost from Japanese folklore. When Kokkuri-san appears, he reveals himself to be a handsome, white-haired young man. Although he intended to simply haunt her, he becomes concerned about her habit of eating ramen at every meal, so he decides to stop scaring her.

Midori Endō started the manga in 2011, and Square Enix shipped the fifth compiled volume in Japan in August of last year.
