Good news for Mobile Suit fans Gundam : The June 2025 edition of Gundam Ace announced the release of a new franchise manga With the title Mobile Suit Gundam Eight ( Kidō Senshi Gundam Eight ), the work brings a narrative in alternative universe, with new characters and a totally unprecedented scenario.

The creation of the series is in the hands of two industry veterans. Hajime Kamoshida , screenwriter of Iron-Blooded Orphans and Creator of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai , assumes the story. Already the art will be on the case of Shuuei Takagi , who recently ended the manga of Gundam: Code Fairy .
Therefore, the plot takes place in the year 2030 , in a devastated land. Humanity is on the verge of extinction, leaving only 258 survivors and one last Gundam. With this scenario, the authors promise an intense plot, full of drama, political conflicts and emotional dilemmas.
This new series is not a total surprise. Gundam Ace magazine had already commented on the project as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the publication. At the time, it was revealed that the manga would have a similar tone to Gundam 00 , but with a different setting of works such as Gundam: The Origin and Gundam UC .
After almost four years of expectation, fans finally received the official title and confirmation of the serialization.
What to expect from Gundam Eight
