The premiere of Gundam GQuuuuuuX , the newest anime in the acclaimed Gundam franchise, was a real hit on social media, especially in Japan. Even before the first episode aired, the term "GQuuuuuuX" was already trending on X (formerly Twitter), proving that anticipation was sky-high.
Broadcast nationally in Japan on NTV and released globally on Prime Video, the premiere episode surprised fans with an intense narrative, striking visuals, and scenes that generated much commentary, such as the realism of a cell phone screen breaking in the scene.
However, the story revolves around Amate Yuzuriha, a high school girl living peacefully in a space colony until she meets Nyaan, a young war refugee. This encounter leads her into the world of illegal mobile suit duels, known as "Clan Battles." Taking on the codename "Machu," Amate pilots the Gundam GQuuuuuuX and engages in dangerous battles until she encounters Shuji, the pilot of a mysterious aircraft.
The production unites the talents of Sunrise and Studio Khara (from Evangelion), directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki and voiced by big names.
