It was revealed on the official Twitter account Gurren Lagann films will have a new theatrical by Studio Trigger in celebration of their 15th anniversary. The announcement included the first trailer in 4K.

Therefore, the first film will premiere in 2D in Japan on August 25th and in 4D on October 6th. The second film will premiere in 2D in Japan on September 22nd and in 4D on October 20th. Both films will premiere in North America in 4D this winter and in Taiwan in 2D and 4D in October.
Synopsis:
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is set in a fictional future where humans have been forced to live beneath the Earth's surface in isolated subterranean civilizations. These "villages" have no contact with the surface or other villages. Due to frequent earthquakes, the villages tend to constantly expand into the depths of the Earth; those in charge of this task are known as "diggers.".
Studio Trigger will release both films on Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD on September 27, 2023.
