Gushing Over Magical Girls manga goes on hiatus
The reason for the announcement of Gushing Over Magical Girls' hiatus was due to author Akihiro Ononaka experiencing health problems.
Synopsis
In the story we then meet Hiiragi Utena. A normal high school girl who loves magical girls – or at least I was, but then a talking mascot appeared out of nowhere and cast a spell on me! Although it's Utena's opportunity to join my beloved magical girls as...a villain? Wait, something is wrong with my clothes! This cannot be happening!
The manga was adapted into an anime that premiered in January 2024, produced by Asahi Production , directed by Tadato Suzuki (episode direction for Fruits Basket 2019) and Atsushi Ootsuki (Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox, Motto To Love Ru) .
Finally, Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete had its publication consolidated in 2019 in Manga Life Storia and later moved to Storia Dash with 8 tankōbon volumes released in October 2022. J-Novel Club licensed the series to be released in English starting pre-publication in March 2022. Meanwhile, Coolmic licensed the series and published the manga split at the end of December 2022.
