He commented:

He dedicates every day to thinking about his next project, and I can no longer stop him – in fact, I've given up trying. I no longer seek to discourage him, even if he ends up creating an unsuccessful film. In life, it's only work that truly captivates him.

Continuing, Suzuki said that it seems Miyazaki almost abandoned The Boy and the Heron.

We were talking a little while ago and he told me something incredible: 'By the way, what was my last film about? I can't remember.' And then he started talking about a new project, so I'm not going to stop him. As long as he's working, I can't retire. He's 82 years old and I think he'll keep going until he's 90. I'll go with him.

Synopsis:

The Boy and the Heron is inspired by the story of Genzaburo Yoshino , published in 1937. The book's story follows the journey of Copper, a 15-year-old boy who goes on a great quest to discover the meaning of life. However, Miyazaki stated that his film will have a different story.

Finally, although and the Heron was considered the director's last anime film, the co-creator of Studio Ghibli wants to continue working, and it seems that another story has sparked his interest.
