Hayao Miyazaki will no longer retire from Studio Ghibli

Since Studio Ghibli announced its new film, news has emerged that The Boy and the Heron Hayao Miyazaki 's last work before retiring. However, Junichi Nishioka Studio Ghibli 's head of public relations , has announced that Miyazaki is still involved in other projects.

The Boy and the Heron was shown as the opening film at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Nishioka said that this is not Miyazaki's last film and he is already coming to the office with new ideas.

Eventually, everyone believed this would be Miyazaki's last film since he's 82 now. Plus, it took him about 5 years to finish the project, but it seems he still has plenty of ideas in mind.

Hayao Miyazaki is one of Japan's most respected and influential animators, having co-founded Studio Ghibli. He also directed Spirited Away , Princess Mononoke , and Howl's Moving Castle .

Initially, The Boy and the Heron didn't receive a trailer, and no details about its plot or visuals were revealed before its Japanese release. The only thing Studio Ghibli released was a cryptic poster. According to Miyazaki, the film's details were kept secret to build suspense.

Synopsis:

The Boy and the Heron is inspired by the story of Genzaburo Yoshino 1937 novel. Therefore, the book follows the journey of Copper, a 15-year-old boy who goes on a journey to discover the meaning of life. However, Miyazaki has stated that his film will tell a different story.
