The anime Hell Mode – The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing has had its second season confirmed for July 2026. The announcement came along with a teaser and new visual focused on the Academy arc, as well as the introduction of new characters to the story.
The first season recently concluded, solidifying the adaptation of the light novel written by Hamuo and illustrated by Mo. The story features a hardcore gamer who chooses the highest difficulty setting in a fantasy world, facing severe limitations from the start.
The animation is being handled by Yokohama Animation Lab, with Masato Tamagawa directing. Daishiro Tanimura is writing the script, and Kei Tsushima is responsible for the character designs.

Hell Mode began as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2019. Later, the publisher Earth Star Entertainment began physical publication in 2020. The story also received a manga illustrated by Tetta, published in Comic Earth Star.
