The Sendai branch of the Kikuya Shoten posted an image of the 44th volume of the “ Hi! Tonbo Golf ” by Ken Kawasaki and Yu Furusawa this Friday (28).
Hey! Tonbo Golf – Manga should get an anime in 2024
According to the image, an anime adaptation of the manga will air in 2024. The volume will be released this coming Monday (1).
Story creator Kawasaki and artist Furusawa launched the manga in Weekly Gold Digest, a general interest golf magazine by Golf Digest Sha Co., Ltd., in August 2014.
Synopsis
The story begins with Igarashi, who was disqualified as a professional golfer after a certain “incident” and therefore moves to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture to get out of the spotlight. On these islands known as “Japan's last unexplored wilderness”, he meets a naive girl named Tonbo. It turns out that these supposedly unexplored islands have a homemade golf course, where Tonbo plays every day. She demonstrates genius-level prowess, playing every type of shot with just one golf club, a 3-iron. Igarashi marvels at Tonbo's talent, though he has doubts about her using just a 3-iron. However, hidden deep inside From the heart of Tonbo lies a painful and sad past….
