During the Comic Market 87 event taking place in Japan, the new anime from Kyoto Animation, Hibike! Euphonium ( Kitauji Kōkō Suisōgaku-bu e Yōkoso ), was announced, along with an official website and trailer. The musical animation is by Ayano Takeda and is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television in April 2015.
Tatsuya Ishihara (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) will be directing the series, and Jukki Hanada will be writing the scripts.
The story of the original novel revolves around the "Kitauji Music" club, which always participates in national competitions. With the arrival of a new advisor, the club receives rigorous instructions from the newly appointed advisor, and the students strive for constant improvement. The daily lives of the club members are full of ups and downs, including struggles over solos and the decision to give up club activities to focus on their studies.
