During the Comic Market 87 event taking place in Japan, Kyoto Animation's new anime, Hibike! Euphonium ( Kitauji Kōkō Suisōgaku-bu e Yōkoso ), was announced, with an official website and trailer. The musical animation is by Ayano Takeda and is scheduled to hit Japanese television in April 2015.
Tatsuya Ishihara (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) will direct the series and Jukki Hanada will write the scripts.
The original novel's story revolves around the Kitauji Music club, which regularly competes in national competitions. With the arrival of a new advisor, the club faces strict instruction from the newly appointed advisor, and the students continue to improve. The club members' daily lives are filled with ups and downs, including struggles over solos and the decision to give up club activities to focus on their studies.
