Kyoto Animation has officially confirmed that “Hibike! Euphonium: The Final Movie – Part 1” will hit Japanese theaters on April 24, 2026 , marking the definitive conclusion to the beloved franchise that has thrilled fans for over a decade.
Following the moving conclusion of "Hibike! Euphonium 3 ," which premiered in 2024, the new film will reunite the studio's original team to deliver the final chapter in the musical journey of Kumiko and the Kitauji High School wind instrument club. The project celebrates 10 years of the series' history , which portrayed the passion and challenges of youth in music.

The general director will be Tatsuya Ishihara , a Kyoto Animation veteran who has been leading the project since 2015, while Taichi Ogawa takes over as lead director. Screenwriter Jukki Hanada returns with a new script and several new scenes, including musical performances not shown in the anime. Additionally, the animation will feature graphical improvements and new musical compositions by Akito Matsuda .
The cast brings back Tomoyo Kurosawa (Kumiko Oumae), Ayaka Asai (Hazuki Katou), Moe Toyota (Midori Kawashima) and Chika Anzai (Reina Kousaka), among other names loved by fans.
In this way, “ The Final Movie ” promises to be a moving tribute to the dedication and dreams that shaped an entire generation of viewers.
