
magazine Fujimi Shobo announced on Monday that production of a third season anime High School DxD based on the series by author Ichiei Ishibumi, has been greenlit and will proceed.
High School of Dragons (DxD) began publication in Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Magazine in September 2008. The first volume was released on September 20, 2008, with a total of 13 volumes available in Japan as of September 6, 2012 under its Bunko Fujimi Fantasia imprint.
An anime adaptation aired in Japan on TNK and ran on AT-X and other networks from January 6, 2012 to March 23, 2012. The anime is licensed in North America by Funimation Entertainment, and in Australia and New Zealand by the entertainment channel Madman. The second season aired from July 7, 2013 to September 22, 2013.
Tetsuya Yanagisawa directed the first season of the anime at studio TNK , with screenwriter Takao Yoshioka and character designer Junji Goto.
