Fujimi Shobo magazine announced on Monday that the production of a third season of the anime High School DXD based on the light novel series Ichiei Ishibumi has gained green light and will happen.
DXD's High School began publication by Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Magazine in September 2008. The first volume was released on September 20, 2008, with a total of 13 volumes available in Japan as of September 6, 2012 under the his brand Bunko Fujimi Fantasia.
An adapted anime hit screens in Japan on TNK and aired on AT-X and other networks from January 6, 2012 to March 23, 2012. The anime is licensed in North America by Funimation Entertainment, and in Australia , New Zealand on the Madman entertainment channel. The second season aired from July 7, 2013 to September 22, 2013.
Tetsuya Yanagisawa directed the first season of the anime at studio TNK with screenwriter Takao Yoshioka and character designer Junji Goto.
