High School DxD made an unexpected return to the big screen with one of the most surprising cameos of the year. We last saw High School DxD in 2018, with the release of the fourth season, High School DxD Hero.

Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting more adventures from this anime. Six years have passed without any news, but a recent release this summer brought a surprise: the appearance of Rias Gremory in motion, proving that interest in the anime is still alive.

Rias Gremory made an unexpected appearance in Episode 4 of VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral After Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream. The anime adaptation of Nana Nanato and Siokazunoko's light novel series has been one of the highlights of the 2024 summer season.

In the episode, the protagonist, Awayuki Kokorone, watches other VTubers' streams, including a game of the Schwarz card game. The surprise? A Rias Gremory card appears in a fully animated attack!

Finally, the crossover between the two animes is even more interesting, as the first three seasons of DxD were produced by TNK , the same studio that now produces VTuber Legend. The fourth season, DxD Hero, was produced by Passione with a new team, but since then the series has been on hiatus, with no signs of a return soon.
