The anime adaptation of the manga Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu (The Summer Hikaru Died) has arrived! This Tuesday, Netflix confirmed the production. In addition, fans were informed about the series' expected premiere.

Synopsis:
Yoshiki and Hikaru are two teenagers who live in a small rural town in Japan. Despite having opposite personalities and very different interests, their friendship is deep and sincere. However, one fateful winter day, Hikaru suffers a fatal injury while hiking alone in the mountains. Before passing away, he is found by a mysterious supernatural entity that consumes him, taking on his physical form.
Written and illustrated by Mokumokuren , the manga gained serialization on Kadokawa Shoten 's Young Ace Up in August 2021. Mokumokuren first conceived of the series while studying for exams and later began posting drawings on Twitter, which prompted the department Young Ace Up editorial approached Mokumokuren to serialize the manga via the Young Ace Up website.
