Live-Action of Homunculus gets teaser trailer and more cast

The live-action film inspired by Hideo Yamamoto 's Homunculus has a teaser trailer and four new cast members.

Furthermore, the film premieres on April 2, 2021. In addition to debuting in Japanese theaters, it will also be available on Netflix worldwide.

New cast members (from left to right)

  • Ryo Ito as Manabu Ito
  • Yukino Kishii as “Mysterious Woman”
  • Seiyo Uchino as yakuza boss
  • Anna Ishii of E-girls as a high school student

The creator of the Ju-On horror franchise, Takashi Shimizu , is directing the film. Gou Ayano (pictured below) will play the protagonist Susumu Nakoshi.

Synopsis

The psychological horror story centers on a man who agrees to let a medical student drill a hole in his head with a drill to pay his bills. However, as a result of this experiment, this man's sixth sense awakens and the side effects of this haunt his life and those around him.

Finally, Hideo Yamamoto's Homunculus manga launched in Shogakukan 's Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2003 and ended in 2011.
