Homunculus Live-Action Reveals Cast, Director, and Release Date

The live-action Homunculus has revealed its director, main cast, and premiere date is April 2, 2021. In addition to premiering in Japanese theaters, the film will also be available on Netflix worldwide.

Ju-On horror franchise creator Takashi Shimizu is directing the film. Gou Ayano (pictured below) will play the protagonist Susumu Nakoshi.

Synopsis

The psychological horror story centers on a man who agrees to let a medical student drill a hole in his head to pay his bills. However, as a result of this experiment, the man's sixth sense awakens, and the side effects haunt his life and the lives of those around him.

Additionally, Hideo Yamamoto's Homunculus manga launched in Shogakukan 's Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2003 and ended in 2011.
