Shanghai police in China revealed that a man planned to kill Liu Wei and Cai Haoyu , the creators of the game Honkai Impact 3rd ( MiHoYo ). According to reports, the suspect was allegedly armed with a knife and managed to infiltrate the building.

No one was injured, and the suspect is now in police custody. The man was apparently "upset by recent changes" to the game Honkai Impact 3rd.

A recent update celebrating the title's three-year anniversary added bunny costumes to the game, but these items had to be removed in China. Many fans complained on social media that the costumes and dance moves—especially on female characters—were "disrespectful and vulgar" to players in the country.
