HoYoverse revealed an unexpected collaboration with studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen) during a recent broadcast. The companies presented an “animation concept trailer” for the game Honkai: Star Rail , bringing a fresh visual approach to the RPG's sci-fi universe.

The video, titled “ Death in the Afternoon ”, drew attention for its direction by Yuzuru Tachikawa, known for Mob Psycho 100 and Death Parade. The character design was handled by Kayoko Ishikawa, reinforcing the artistic quality of the presented project.

The presentation was described as a mysterious project within the official live stream. At the end of the trailer, a message appears indicating a new story in development. To date, no further information regarding format or release has been confirmed by the companies involved.

Released in 2023, Honkai: Star Rail is a space fantasy RPG with turn-based combat and a narrative focused on interplanetary exploration. The player takes on the role of the Trailblazer, investigating mysteries connected to Stellaron and the Aeons. The title has already surpassed 150 million global downloads.
