Current Hashira
Giyu Tomioka
Giyu is the first Hashira Tanjiro encounters. He initially tries to kill Nezuko, but after witnessing her protecting a defenseless Tanjiro, Giyu changes his mind and sends the Kamado brothers to his mentor, Urokodaki Sakonji.
Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu is the Insect Pillar, known for her calm demeanor. She always has a smile on her face, no matter the circumstances. However, she harbors an intense rage against demons, blaming them for the loss of her loved ones, including her older sister.
Kyojuro Rengoku
Kyojuro is the Pillar of Flames, inheriting the title from his father, Shinjuro. Despite his turbulent and eccentric behavior, he is pure of heart and honorable. His mother instilled in him a moral code of protecting the weak.
Tengen Uzui
Tengen is a former shinobi who joined the Demon Slayer Corp. He is the flashy Pillar of Sound who tries to be flamboyant in everything he does.
Mitsuri Kanroji
With an openly passionate and somewhat airheaded nature, she wields a unique, whip-like sword made of a malleable metal, mastered only by her. Her extraordinary flexibility and unparalleled physical strength are the result of her denser-than-average muscles.
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro, the Pillar of Mist, seemingly calm and aloof, harbors an intense rage against demons, which fuels his relentless determination to fight them.
Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei, the Stone Pillar, is known as the strongest of all the Hashira of his era. An imposing figure with a compassionate heart, he once sheltered orphaned children.
Obanai Iguro
The Serpent Pillar, always accompanied by his loyal snake companion, Kaburamaru, is a formidable and tormented warrior. He carries the weight of self-loathing, haunted by a painful past.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
Ultimately, the current Wind Pillar, known for his aggressive and confrontational nature, attempted to expose Nezuko's demonic essence to the Hashira and Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corp.
Ancient Hashira
Shinjuro Rengoku – Ancient Hashira of Flames
Thus, he is the former Pillar of Flames and father of Kyojuro and Senjuro, who resigned as hashira after recognizing the superiority of the original breathing style. He spends his days drinking at home until he receives a heartfelt message from Kyojuro, asking him to take care of himself.
Kanae Kocho – Former Flower Hashira
Formerly known as the Pillar of Flowers, this hashira was Shinobu's biological older sister and Kanao's adoptive older sister. Tragically, she fell victim to Doma, one of the Upper Moons.
Sakonji Urokodaki – Former Water Hashira
Initially, Sakonji Urokodaki is a former Water Pillar and our hero's master. He is initially apprehensive due to Tanjiro's gentle nature, but agrees to train him.
Jigoro Kuwajima – Former Thunder Hashira
Meanwhile, Jigoro, a former Thunder Pillar, served as an instructor to Zenitsu and Kaigaku. Adopting the pseudonym "Shihan," he earned a reputation for mentoring the series' most challenging students.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni – the strongest Hashira
Finally, Yoriichi, the strongest Demon Slayer in history, struck terror into Muzan's heart when he came close to decapitating the Demon King in the Sengoku Era. Thus, despite his Hashira rank being kept secret, Yoriichi enjoyed special privileges similar to the Pillars, including the unique engraving on his nirichin sword.
