The official website for the anime Hybrid Child , based on Shungiku Nakamura's manga, has released a new commercial. The video features the theme song "Syncretism" by singer Annabel.
The Hybrid Child manga will be adapted into (1) a four-episode OVA (Original Video Animation) format. The first volume will contain the first episode, which will be released straight to DVD and Blu-ray on October 29th. The second volume will be released on November 26th, the third on December 24th, and the fourth will arrive on January 28th, 2015.
The animation is by Studio Deen (Bleach, CANAAN), the direction is by Michio Fukuda responsible for (Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital, Hyakko), the argument is by Aki Itami (Mushi-Shi, The Comic Artist and His Assistants) and the character design is by Takahiro Kishida the same who commanded (Madoka Magica, Haikyu!!).
Seiji Biblos originally serialized the manga in the magazine Be x Boy Gold from 2003 to 2004, and Kadokawa Shoten later published the manga in one volume in 2008. Digital Manga Publishing released the manga in North America. The manga has since inspired a CD drama adaptation with a different cast from the anime.
