FURIA secured their place in the semi-finals of IEM Rio 2024 after beating Natus Vincere (NAVI) in an electrifying series, with two maps to zero, on the afternoon of this Wednesday (9). Repeating the exciting atmosphere of the Major in Rio, the Brazilian team is now among the four best in the tournament.

Strategic victory on the Nuke map
The first map in the series was Nuke, chosen by FURIA, where the Brazilians started promisingly on the terrorist side. The team opened the scoring with a victory in the pistol round, followed by a dominant sequence, reaching 6-3. However, NAVI managed to respond in the first set and, by making good use of its defense, shortened the difference on the scoreboard, closing the side with five points.
After the change of sides, the balance between the teams continued. NAVI won the pistol round, but FURIA quickly responded with a forced victory, regaining control of the game. The confrontation remained fierce until a 10-10 draw, at which point FURIA adapted to NAVI's executions at bombsite A. With precise defenses and an excellent reading of the game, the Brazilian team secured the victory by 13-10, closing the match solid map.
Absolute dominance on the Mirage map
The second map was Mirage, chosen by NAVI, but the one who dominated the match was FURIA. Starting on the counter-terrorist (CT) side, the Brazilian team showed an exceptional performance, alternating defensive tactics and controlling spaces on the map with precision. Even with NAVI managing to surprise in two economical rounds, FURIA maintained the lead, ending the first half with a score of 9 to 3.
In the second half, NAVI started well by winning the pistol round, but FURIA again demonstrated its strength by converting the forced round soon after. One of the most memorable moments was skullz's ace clutch, which increased the Brazilians' advantage. FURIA reached the score of 12 to 4, and, after beating the only team of their opponents on the CT side, they closed the map 13 to 4, confirming their passage to the semifinals.

FURIA showed not only individual skill, but also excellent tactical reading throughout the series against NAVI. Players like KSCERATO and FalleN were important in decisive moments. While skullz was instrumental in the clutch that secured the forced victory in the second round in Mirage. The team now heads confidently towards the semi-final, maintaining their dream of bringing the title to Brazil.
