anime adaptation of Ikebukuro West Gate Park, a mystery novel by author Ira Ishida, has been announced. It will premiere in 2020 and will be animated by Doga Kobo. The announcement came from the adaptation's official Twitter account
The series synopsis describes:
Living in an area known for juvenile crime, 21-year-old Makoto is friends with Rei, the leader of a youth gang known as the "G-Boys," even though he himself doesn't want to be a member. Known for his calm demeanor and ability to get things done, Makoto becomes the gang's key troubleshooter, defusing tense situations and getting his friends out of trouble. However, the death of his girlfriend and a growing turf war with a rival gang are more than Makoto can handle.
