anime adaptation of author Ira Ishida's Ikebukuro West Gate Park mystery novel has been announced. It will debut in 2020, and will be animated by studio Doga Kobo. The announcement came from adaptation's official Twitter account
The series synopsis describes:
“Living in a region known for youth crime, Makoto is 21 years old and is a friend of the King, the leader of a youth gang known as “G-Boys”, even though he himself doesn't want to be a member. Known for remaining calm and his ability to get things done, Makoto becomes the gang's key problem solver, for defusing tense situations and getting his friends out of trouble. However, the death of his girlfriend and an escalating turf war with a rival gang are more problems than Makoto can handle.”
