Synopsis

The story revolves around a young pharmacologist who was so focused on his research that he died from overwork. He was transported to an alternate world and reincarnated as Pharma, the descendant of a noble lineage of court healers. In this world where remedies and misguided cures abound, he confronts all kinds of illnesses to save lives, thanks to his profound knowledge of modern pharmacology from his past life.

Furthermore, the illustrator of the Keepout and the manga artist Sei Takano created illustrations to celebrate the anime announcement:

The Isekai anime has already been greenlit, but beyond the visuals, no studio or production company has yet been revealed. However, an official website and a Twitter account have been opened.

Finally, Takayama launched the light novel Isekai Yakkyoku on the Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2016. Kadokawa's MF Books imprint has published seven volumes of the light novel so far, with illustrations by keepout, and will publish the eighth volume on July 21. Sei Takano has been serializing a manga adaptation in Kadokawa since November 2016. The franchise has 2.3 million copies in circulation.
